I think what I did when I tried to get out of debt was probably worse then if I had just held on to the debt for a while longer. I was trying to get out of debt, or at least make it easier for me to handle and I went to a company that really took advantage of me. Now I am learning that a true debt consolidation company will work with you and tell you exactly how to minimize your risk and get bills paid on time. The previous company I went with just got me into more debt.
